Decades ago I bought this FG340 new.
I still love it though its top has developed a bulge .
This makes the string height higher at the 12th fret.
When I have the time I will try to solve this problem.

I share some pics.
Maybe someone could read the faded serial an can tell the year of production.

The action typically gets higher because the decades of string tension has been trying to collapse the guitar in half. The bridge tends to tip backward into the sound hole, and the neck rotates upward pushing the fretboard tension into the guitar. That's why the sound hole is usually sunken. Most of the time only an expensive neck reset can fix the neck angle and make the guitar playable again.

Your serial number looks like 10310060, 3/10/1981.

As I have made a neck reset with good result on my FG 512 recently I´m not afraid doing that on this FG340 too, though it´s much work.

Be aware the 1977 and later models may have been build with the fabled epoxy. I did a neck reset on a FG-335 recently and it definitely wasn't hide glue. It was green and tough to get to release. I was fortunate they didn't use much in the neck joint, but the fretboard was extra tough.
