Yes, I went to post my readings here and read your weights - I thought, I had better go weigh them again. Which is what I did. But still the same.
No, not one under 4 lbs. I wonder if my new purchase will fall under it - I bought an FG360 tonight. I got it for $350 AUD, which is a pretty good price, I think. It seems the world is waking up to these delightful vintage FGs and the prices are going up. It was advertised as local pickup only, but I wrote to him and asked if he would be willing to ship it. He said he would, but he kept his ebay listing the same. Perhaps I sneaked in where others felt excluded.
I had been looking for an FG360. It has a good reputation. They were produced between 1972-74. But funnily, there were two versions of the FG360. Have you read the article online, on someone's personal webpage, where he explains this interesting matter? There was one made for the domestic market, has coral rosewood back and sides. And another one made for the overseas market - was released in the US. It has Jacaranda back and sides. Was made between '73-'75. Although it is labelled FG360 it is actually thought of as FG360N by Yamaha. I believe the one I bought is the coral rosewood one. It is funny, that webpage is entirely devoted to FG360. It invites people to write in and share their story about owning one. And all of them speak so highly about the model.
I tell you what, I look awfully close now at the height of the bridge and the frets! I beg more photos or measurements out of the seller. Most of the time sellers are happy to provide. Sometimes they are not sure why it is important so I have to explain.
