Thanks - I'll stay in touch. Hypothetical: if you were to complete a neck reset, at what point, or what factors would also be in play that would convince you the guitar (in this case a '72 FG-180) also would really benefit from a screw-mount JLD Bridge Doctor? What element could the neck reset not quite resolve that a BD would achieve to bring it all across the finish line?
The bridge doctor only tips the bridge back to horizontal. It does NOTHING for the neck angle, which is the actual problem. In some cases, tipping the bridge back can RAISE the action slightly, since it's lifting the front of the bridge, where the saddle is. It may work OK with solid top guitars, but the plywood guitars are too stiff for it to be effective. And the bridge doctor adds an ugly hole to the bridge, letting everyone know there's something wrong with the guitar and they went for the doubtful quick fix.
Appreciate the insight on the BD, and all your help here.
