Well, I couldn't wait any longer. I removed the neck. It was the easiest one so far. The fretboard released very easily, once I got the spatula started it went right in, took maybe 2-3 minutes work with 15-20 minutes heating in 2 sessions. I felt I was rushing it so I was planning on taking the neck off tomorrow night. But I kept moving forward until all that was left was to turn on the steam. I didn't have much distilled water for the machine. Hoped it would be enough. I heated the joint about 4 minutes total, moving the tip between each of the holes every 30-60 seconds. When the steam ran out I pulled out the tip and started wiggling the joint, turned the clamp on the heel, then wiggled. It popped off in maybe 30 seconds work. Lots of shims inside, 2 layers in spots. It'll end up being thicker after sanding the heel. That's enough for now.
There's some odd round plug in the top that was put there before the dovetail slot was cut. It didn't go all the way to the bottom so steam was getting inside the guitar.
A little sliver of the top separated, it was the last area attached and the wedging of the spatula tore it. It'll look fine.
The only tearing of the dovetail. The other side came off very clean.
