On dark ,a bloke was holding up a guitar asking $10 for a guitar he'd found in bushes.Looked a little bit weathered. So I bought it.Then I noticed the neck was a bit wobbly ,also the fret board was separated down halfway from the neck.Managed to restore it back to its original sound with a lot of patience & a bracket I formed.Truss rod still worked .Go',s to show how sturdy they were made.Another thread asked how old they were & I read they stopped making them round 83, in Oz anyway.Definitely a keeper. She's had offers around $180,but I don't think so,dents & all.Anyone scored a bargain for such a great guitar?
My best find is my 1971 FG-180 for $20. It had nylon strings and the action was so high you could almost pass a pencil under the strings. I finished a neck reset about a month ago. The FG-180 is everything I've ever heard and MORE!! An amazing guitar at almost any price.
I also picked up a 1970 FG-110 for $40. The guy got it in a house cleanout. Unlike almost every vintage FG it didn't need a neck reset. It had been my favorite guitar for about a year until I finished the FG-180.
