Tonight I crowned/sanded/polished the first 17 frets.
It's really hard to get pictures of frets. Here's the 10th fret crowned & polished and the 9th fret still flat.
Again, I can't get the camera to focus on them. But you can see they're rounded & shiny.
Yep, another fuzzy frets picture. They are done!! I'll take the tape off a little later.
NEXT, is sticking the adhesive sheet to the back of the pickguard.
I traced the shape of the pickguard to the white backing side of the adhesive sheet, and cut it out leaving about 1/4" all around.
Peel off the white backing sheet.
You're looking thru the very thin clear adhesive to the brown backing sheet.
Misted the adhesive with slightly soapy water.
And misted the back of the pickguard with slightly soapy water. The water allows the pickguard to be repositioned. Without it, it sticks where ever it hits.
The pickguard lightly pressed to the adhesive sheet.
Added more pressure to push out most of the water. I also turned it over and pressed all over to firmly attached the sheet to the pickguard and push out any water.
Covered with a piece of Lexan (cut for this style pickguard) and clamped to a piece of wood. This will hold the pickguard tightly to the adhesive sheet. Let it sit to dry for 24 hours.
