Since I build a hybrid guitar (YamaGull 1.0, made from the body of a FG-110 & the neck from a Seagull Menestrel) I figured the next project should be a conversion of a vintage Yamaha to a 4 string micro scale 25" length bass.
Originally I wanted to use another FG-110 to be the same body as the YamaGull, but I realized the larger dreadnaught size body would have more bass. So I decided to use a 1970 FG-180, which I bought as a project. It has a cracked heel and a large dented area on the back of the neck. The original intention was to make another YamaGull from it.
