I bought this off a fellow sailor (last name Robillard from Tuscan AZ) while we were schooling at NAS North Island in San Diego CA in 1979. It is a true beater having been "dropped down canyons" in its former life. I somehow cracked its back in the early 80's which I patched and painted. It has scars, but it still sounds great. Four of the eight screws mounting the tuning pegs to the headstock. Everything else is original.
It has lived with me in CA, MA, VA, and north FL (where it's lived for the last 20 years) as well as Iceland. It deployed with me one two U.S. carriers (Forrestal and Theodore Roosevelt) to Halifax N.S., all over the Caribbean, SP, FR, IT, GR, GE, TU (big hit in Turkey), IS, EG, and the UAE.
That's the lower serial number. The upper serial number is on the brace just inside the soundhole. 8 digits probably starting with 408. That's the number that tells you when it was made.
