Hello, all!
Looking through pics from my visit to the Country Music Hall Of Fame in Nashville on December 28th, 2017 and found this hidden-in-plain-sight gem!
Sadler Vaden (of Jason Isbell's band, The 400 Unit) played this FG-180 on the recording of the album "Something More Than Free" which, in my opinion, is a masterpiece. So many great songs including the song "If It Takes A Lifetime" which I played as motivation on the way to work every day for a few years. Just look at the pick scratches on this beauty. She's been played in, for sure.
Jason and Sadler are champions for sober living and playing. I recently saw them at Healing Appalachia in Lewisberg, WV; a 3 day fundraising festival that funds outreach for those in affected by the opioid epidemic in rural Appalachia. Tommy Prine (Handsome Johnny's son) was a true highlight for me. The event was ultimately headlined by Tyler Childers and The Food Stamps with Tyler pouring a shot of whiskey to the ground after an emotional story of a lost friend and an acappella version of "Sour Mash" by Cory Branam. A great event and a great cause supported by some great acts and programs.
So glad to look back and see an appreciation for our Vintage Yamaha FG's in the HOF! Be well, everyone!
