FG110 Red Label Question

I recently bought a Yamaha FG110 Nippon Gakki red label guitar at a yard sale. The guitar is in great shape. Not knowing anything abut guitars (bought it for our son), other than it was an older one, I decided to research it. Here are some of the questions/comments I have:

The date code stamped on the inside is 45.16.9 - this does not conform to the yy.mm.dd system - what the heck does the 16 equate to?

The serial number is 1399685. As it is a 7 digit number I'm guessing this was made around 1970 or 71 - would that be accurate?

I think the 6 is a badly stamped 0. I'd say it should be 45.10.9, which is 10/9/1970, which is when the sides were made. It was probably finished late October/early November. More info on the date code here. yamahavintagefg.boards.net/thread/13/japanese-emperor-date-codes

This is a long shot, but being brand new (as in joined a moment ago) I am trying to get an accurate build date for a recently acquired Yamaha FG-110 six string guitar. I have found trying to decipher multiple different versions of numbers, with unique interpretations from various sources just saps my strength mostly. Attached there are images of my FG-110. Simply put, inside the guitar there is this serial number stamped on to the mounting block right below the fretboard - it is T0045909. There is another more important number: 60.8.25

Armed with that information, can someone please direct me specifically to the build date and how that was done?

Because it doesn't have the upper 8 digit serial number (they didn't start using the upper serial number in Taiwan until May 1972), you will never know exactly when it was finished. The lower number is from a list of sequential numbers not related to a date. The date code 60.8.25 is 8/25/1971, which was when the sides were made. The guitar was probably finished late September/early October 1971.
