I saw it on Facebook Marketplace, in the next town over. It looked really beat to crap with the neck broken (and possibly repaired) at the heel and the headstock. He was asking $40. I have WAY too many projects and guitars!! I don’t need another!! I resisted for a day, then I offered $10, figuring I’d just throw it in the boneyard for another future project. He understandably refuses and countered with $30. I was very busy at work and a couple of guitar projects I need to get done by the end of this weekend so I forgot about it. He replied 2 days later the lowest he would go is $25, and later $20. I agreed to meet and gave him $25. I brought my son and the 3 of us talked for about 1.5 hours, finally ending it when I couldn’t feel my fingers. He found it in New Mexico and fixed it the best he could. It looks semi-stable but the action is the worst I’ve ever seen.
When I got home I took a closer look. It was in worst shape than I thought. NUMEROUS dings all over & lightly sanded all over, which made the dings a little less obvious. The upper heel was broken and glued. The neck was badly broken and sort of fixed, but the gap is still open and a couple of inches of fretboard is separated allowing the upper neck to curve badly. Tuned to "D", the neck relief is 3/32", the action is 1/4" low E & 7/32" high E, the worst I’ve ever seen. Forget about the neck projection, the neck is too warped. Even though to body has a solid top, there are no cracks, but it's beat to hell and wouldn't be worth anything if I fixed the neck, or I could save the body and replace the neck, although the guitar would still not be worth anything.
The top's a bit dinged up.
The neck break.
The fretboard is separated a bit, causing the bow in the neck.
The action is a LITTLE HIGH!
