Trying to determine vintage of FG-365S. Tan, oval tag shows made in Taiwan, Republic of China. Stamped on inside with a #5 but any other date had faded. Serial # 1467910. No letters preceding it. I’m guessing around 1978 or 1979. It’s a beautiful guitar and in excellent shape. Just wondering what anyone might know to share….thanks.

That is the lower serial number. The upper serial number, on the brace under the fretboard, is the date. You are correct. I would guess December 1978 or January 1979.
There should also be a date code on one of the inner sides. Probably 67.12.??.
kate,CTGull, Thanks. This is the only number I can find…and it is on the brace under the fret board. the side board is faded out ink, unfortunately. But the year seems about right. Any idea as to a value? Thanks for your time….appreciate it!

The value will vary widely depending on condition, playability, and where you try to sell it. It sounds like it's in good condition. High action (1/8" or higher) is common due to 40+ years of string tension pulling the neck up, which requires a very difficult and expensive neck reset costing about or more than the guitar is worth. Reverb & eBay will get the most, then CraigsList and Facebook Marketplace. I'd say $300 to $400, unless the action is really high.
