Some early Yammy models had added to their designation a ii, such as the 335, the 375, the 345. It was added later on, from 1981 onwards. One change was, the truss rod access went from being at the headstock to being in the soundhole. I wonder if anyone has compared an earlier version to a later version? From what I understand, the woods used are the same from earlier to later. I wish to particularly learn of the comparison between the FG335 and the FG335ii? Is there any difference aside from the truss rod access change?
While I've never had any of those models, my experience with two 80's models found both of them to be heavy and dead, like they thickened the bracing, used slightly thicker wood, or a thicker finish.
I'd like to see a weight comparison between the original and ii models. And, of course, a sonic comparison.
